Firefighters rescue four brothers trapped inside well in Kano

Firefighters in Kano have rescued four brothers trapped inside a well at Dandago Bola community in Gwale LGA of the state.

Saminu Abdullahi, spokesperson of the Kano fire service, announced the development in a statement on Monday.

Abdullahi said the incident happened on Sunday night, adding that the cause of the incident was under investigation.

He said the fire service received a distress call and immediately sent a rescue team to the scene.

The spokesperson identified the victims as Bello Muhammed, Sadiq Muhammed, Shiba Muhammed and Muhammed Sani.

Abdullahi said Bello Muhammed was the first to have fallen into the well, adding that the victim fractured his hand and leg which prevented him from coming out.

He said Bello’s three brothers while trying to rescue him from the well also got trapped.

“We received a distress call from one Umma Usman-Dandago at about 08:01 p.m., and immediately, we sent our rescue team to the scene at about 08:06 pm,” NAN quoted Abdullahi as saying.

“After he (Bello Muhammed) got trapped and had a fracture on his hand, and leg and sustained minor injuries on his body, he could not come outside; his three brothers entered the well to help him and also got trapped.

Abdullahi said the victims, after their rescue, were taken to the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for treatment.
