First Bank of Nigeria has announced a webinar to sensitise businesses and individuals with useful information on being protected in today’s digital age.
The bank said the virtual event titled: ‘Staying Protected Amidst the Pandemic Chaos’ will take place on Friday.

According to a statement released by the bank, the virtual event is pertinent owing to illicit activities like identity theft, internet fraud among others that have marred the digital age, which pose a risk to the safety of individuals and businesses.

Participants will be equipped with relevant information to make informed decisions and how to protect themselves against malicious attacks on the internet.
Speaking on the planned webinar, Adesola Adeduntan, chief executive of the bank, said individuals, businesses and government must be deliberate in protecting themselves against cybersecurity threats associated with globalisation.
“The world as a global village is associated with not just benefits but also risks of cyberattack and for individuals, businesses, and governments to make the best out of the digital and online opportunities, they need to be deliberate in protecting themselves against cybersecurity threats,” Adeduntan was quoted in a statement by Folake Ani-Mumuney, group head, marketing, and corporate communications.

“In today’s digital age, which the pandemic has accelerated the embrace, cyberattacks are occurring at an alarming rate across the world. As such, no individual, business or government entity with digital and online presence is immune to cyberattacks; and the financial, physical, and legal implications of an attack can be significantly upsetting.’’
The discussion at the event will be led by Tope Aladenusi, chief strategy officer & cyber risk services leader, Deloitte West Africa; Confidence Staveley, cyber security evangelist/founder, Cybersafe Foundation, and Harrison Nnaji, chief information security officer.
