Dauda Lawal, an executive director of FirstBank, was invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to assist in the investigation of Diezani Alison-Madueke, former minister of petroleum resource, the bank said in a brief press statement on Wednesday night.
Some bank chiefs have been quizzed by the EFCC over a reported $115 million allegedly lodged by the former minister before the 2015 elections.
“As a law abiding citizen, Mr. Lawal is cooperating fully with the authorities,” the statement said, adding: “FirstBank will issue an official statement on this matter in due course.”
