Three persons have been reportedly killed in Bauchi, following a heavy downpour, which led to the collapse the Bauchi-Ningi-Kano highway bridge in the state.
According to NAN, Bala Mohammed, Bauchi governor, stated this on Saturday, when he inspected the affected bridge in Ningi LGA of the state.
The downpour is said to have lasted for several hours, after which a part of the bridge was washed away by flood.
The three persons were said to have died after a vehicle in which they were being conveyed, was swept away by the flood.

Speaking further on the incident, Mohammed said the state government has mobilised two construction companies to rebuild the destroyed section of the bridge.
He added that the collapsed bridge has cut off movement on the road linking the north-east and the north-west region of the country.
