Nigeria’s Flying Eagles let a two-goal lead slip from their grip as they drew 2-2 against Guinea Bissau on Saturday.
The first leg of the 2019 U20 Cup of Nations qualifying fixture took place in Bissau at the September 24 Stadium.
A brace from Wasiu Alalade was cancelled out by second-half strikes from the hosts as Nigeria had to settle for a draw.
Early on in the match, Nigeria were in fine form. With constant possession, Paul Aigbogun’s boys had chance after chance to go ahead.

After a few more close calls, Alalade put his side up with a 28th minute cool finish. Alalade doubled the score seven minutes before the break.
In the second half, life was injected into the contest through a goal by Guinea Bissau in the 58th minute.
Six minutes later, the hosts levelled the score.

Neither team could find the winning goal as the clock ran out.
The second leg tie will take place in Calabar, Cross River.
