The Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday qualified for the third and final round of the 2015 African Youth Championship (AYC) qualifiers, after trouncing Tanzania counterpart 4-1.
Playing at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, Nigeria took the lead in the seventh minute when Alhassan Ibrahim’s low shot beat goalkeeper Hamad Joma.
The Ngorongoro Heroes evened scores on 16minutes, as Banda Hassan curled a free kick from outside the box beyond Flying Eagles goalkeeper, Joshua Enaholo.
Musa Yahaya restored Nigeria’s in the 33rd minute, moments after Taiwo Awoniyi frittered a sitter.

Two minutes later, Awoniyi atonded for his earlier miss by scoring the Flying Eagles’ third.
Substitute Chidera Eze consolidated the win in the 69th minute with a fourth goal, that meant the national under-20 men’s football team qualified on a 6-1 aggregate, after winning the first leg match two weeks 2-0 in Dar es Salaam.
They will now face the winners of the second round match between Lesotho and Angola in August.

Similarly, Nigeria’s senior women football team, the Super Falcons, in faraway Rwanda, whipped hosts Rwanda 4-1 in a first leg match of the 2014 African Women Championship (AWC) qualifiers.
The Falcons started the game brightly by dominating, but they also threw away the many scoring chances they created.
According to NAN, Asisat Oshoala, opened scoring in the 37th minute with a volley from inside the box, while Desire Oparanozie set up Oshoala three minutes later for the second goal.
The six-time African champions made it 3-0 immediately into the second half, team captain Evelyn Nwabuoku finding Esther Sunday, who beat the Rwanda goalkeeper with a low shot.

Rwanda pulled a goal back in the 65th minute when Clementine Mukamana’s free kick beat Precious Dede in goal for Nigeria.
The Nigerian girls responded with stiffer pressure, and Oparanozie, brought down inside the penalty box, convert the resultant kick for the Falcons’ fourth goal.
