Nigeria’s U-20 team, the Flying Eagles, defeated the U-23 team of Freiburg 4-1 in their last friendly match to round off their tour of Germany.
Goals from Alhassan Ibrahim, Saviour Godwin, Ifeanyi Matthew and Usman Sale condemned Freiburg to defeat and made it three wins in three games for the Manu Garba-tutored side ahead of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
Ibrahim, who’s on standby in the squad in case of any injury to the first-team players, enhanced his chances of gate-crashing into the team after scoring the first goal – his second in as many matches.
The first half ended 1-0, but the hosts drew level few minutes into the second to the delight of their fans.

It was short-lived, though, as two quick goals from Godwin and Matthew restored Nigeria’s lead.
Sale then buried all hopes of a comeback for the Germans with a fourth goal.
The team is due to fly out to New Zealand via Australia from Germany on May 23.
