Manchester City scored thrice in the second period to claim a deserved 3-1 comeback win over rivals Manchester United in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Phil Foden was the hero as the blue side of Manchester dominated the Red Devils. Erik ten Hag’s side came for the encounter with a defensive game plan for an unlikely smash-and-grab victory.
Marcus Rashford scored against the run of play in eight minutes when he smashed in from 25 yards to put the visitors in front. Man City continued to pelt United’s goal without success; a missed sitter from Erling Haaland the highlight of a first half in which they attempted 18 shots.
After a futile first half, Foden equalized on 50 minutes with a screamer from outside the penalty area. The England international completed the turnaround and with it his brace, when he exchanged passes with Julio Alvarez before hammering an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner ten minutes from time.

Haaland sealed the win in added time with an unstoppable drive into the bottom corner as City made it three consecutive wins against their crosstown rivals.
The latest win continues Man City’s 11-match unbeaten run in the EPL and 19 unbeaten in all competitions.
The Cityzens are one point behind table-toppers Liverpool as the title challenge enters the business end of the season.
