Dauda Lawal, governor of Zamfara, has signed an executive order restructuring and reducing the number of ministries in the state from 28 to 16.
The Zamfara governor announced the development in a post on his official Twitter handle on Thursday.
He said the decision was taken to transform the state’s civil service for greater productivity, effective service delivery and to reduce the cost of governance.
“As part of my administration’s drive to transform the civil service for greater productivity and effective service delivery as one of my key mandates, I assented to an executive order restructuring and reducing the number of our ministries from 28 to 16,” Lawal said.
