Uba Sani inaugurates mobile medical trucks for hard-to-reach Kaduna communities

Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has inaugurated five mobile medical trucks to provide healthcare services to hard-to-reach communities in the state.

The governor also inaugurated the women and children shelter, located at Katuru road in Kaduna metropolis, to provide accommodation and other services to victims of gender-based violence (GBV) and other abuses.

Speaking at the inaugurations on Sunday, Sani, who was represented by Hadiza Balarabe, his deputy, said the mobile medical trucks would boost healthcare services and enhance the well-being and survival of citizens.

He said the trucks would solve the difficulty of travelling to rural communities to render medical services.

“To this end, we undertook an innovative approach to better our state’s healthcare system,” he said.

“Among the initiatives we took, we have procured state-of-the-art mobile diagnostic units which will facilitate the provision of quality diagnostics services to our far-to-reach, hard-to-reach, and other underserved communities.

“These mobile units will offer a range of services, including maternal, newborn and child health interventions, radiology services, and all laboratory diagnoses of ailments such as malaria, HIV, hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis, and many more.
