The four foreign nationals abducted along the Kwoi– Jere road in Kaduna state on Tuesday have been released.
Two Americans and two Canadian businessmen who were on their way from Kafanchan, Kaduna state, to Abuja, were ambushed along the Kwoi-Jere road, around 7pm on Tuesday.
The two police escort attached to them were killed during an exchange of gunfire with the bandits.
Agyole Abeh, Kaduna state police commissioner, who confirmed the release of the foreigners on Saturday, said they were rescued by the police at Jere area in Kagarko local government of Kaduna.

Abeh said the foreign businessmen were freed inside the bush at about 6am on Saturday following a massive manhunt for their abductors by men of the Kaduna police command and the inspector-general of police (IGP) special anti-kidnapping squad.
He did not say if a ransom was paid before their release.
The police commissioner said one person was arrested in connection with the incident, adding that the police were on the trail of the remaining suspects to bring them to justice.

He said the police was determined to crush all criminal gangs and called for the support of members of the public by being vigilant and providing the police with useful and confidential information about the activities of criminals in the community.
