Luis Suarez, Barcelona and Uruguay striker, has won the golden shoe award for scoring the most league goals across Europe’s top leagues last season — ahead of usual suspects Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The award was presented to him by his children, Delphina and Benjamin.
The Barcelona star scored 40 La Liga goals in the 2015/16 season.
This is the second time the Uruguayan has achieved the accolade, after first winning it alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in 2013/14, when he notched 31 goals for Liverpool

“I want to thank Barca for bringing me here and allowing me to fulfill my goals. My teammates play a part in all my goals,”Suarez said after receiving the award.
“I have magnificent teammates who make it easy for me but I don’t want to take anything away from myself; you still have to score. I hope I can finish my career at Barca but I need to be at the highest level to compete.
“I have fought a lot in my life and, since coming to Barca, I am trying to enjoy it, be happy and win trophies.

“I am in the best team in the world with the best players. If you are thinking of a target, you can achieve it but the group goal of winning titles comes first.
“Then there are individual awards, and if I do not win [individual titles], then Leo or Neymar will.”
The 29-year-old striker has scored nine goals in 12 appearances for Barcelona this term.
