Foundation to hold prostate cancer awareness walk Saturday in Lagos

Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation, a medical outreach, says it is organising a walk on Saturday to create awareness about prostate cancer.

In a statement released on Friday, Martin Ebuwa, the chief executive officer of the foundation, said the theme of the campaign is “Let’s keep fit and fight prostate cancer”.

According to the statement, the walk will stretch for 3.3km, beginning at 8am from Ikeja under the bridge and ending at the city mall in Alausa.

“We also would have on the Walk some of our favourite celebrities who are supporting the awareness campaign and the atmosphere would be made convivial by music from lively DJs and tasteful refreshments,” Ebuwa added.

The foundation said it will also offer free prostate cancer screening to men above 45 years as well as free blood pressure and blood sugar tests to everyone who volunteers for the test.

The event has been endorsed by the Nigeria Cancer Society (NCS), the statement noted.
