Four-goal hero Odion Ighalo says ‘God gave me all at once’

Odion Ighalo says God made it possible for him score a double brace in the Chinese Super League season on Saturday.

Ighalo scored the goals for Changchun Yatai in the 5-2 5away win at Guizhou Hengfeng.

The striker told TheCable he is happy that his hard work in perfecting scoring chances has yielded results.

“I have not been lucky in front of goal but today God gave me all the ones that haven’t been entering since the start of the season at once,” Ighalo said.

“I am happy and I have been working hard to perfect finishing in front of goal.

“And it was a good performance from the team too.”

The former Watford FC striker opened the scoring in the 24th minute but Wei Du of Guizhou Hengfeng equalised for the home side in the 33rd minute.

Long Tan scored Changchun Yatai’s second goal to hand the visitors a 2-1 lead before the Super Eagles striker scored his second in the 38th minute.

Fan Wang made it 2-3 for the home side in the 60th minute while Ighalo completed his hat-trick in the 86th minute.

The 29-year-old striker got his fourth goal of the game in additional time of the second half.

Ighalo now has five goals for Changchun Yatai from seven games.
