At least four persons have been killed while many sustained injuries in clashes between Fulani and Bachama communities in Adamawa state.
The incident occurred in Numan local government area of Adamawa.
In the early hours of Sunday, herdsmen reportedly stormed Kikon village, shooting sporadically.
It was learnt that the herdsmen got into the village on more than 22 motorcycles to carry out the attack.

The reason for the attack is not yet known.
In retaliation, youth of the Bachama community stormed Dowayan-waja and Lure villages, attacking anyone they met. They also set houses ablaze.
Othman Abubakar, police public relations officer in Adamawa, said two units of anti-riot mobile police officers have since been deployed to ensure normalcy in the areas.

While confirming the deaths of four people, Abubakar said those injured were taken to Numan general hospital for treatment.
