Four more parents of abducted Chibok girls die

Four more parents of girls abducted by Boko Haram in Chibok have died, bringing the total number of dead parents of the abductees to 11.

National chairman of the Chibok community, Pogu Bitrus, who disclosed this to TheCable on Tuesday, had said on July 5, 2014, that seven parents of the abducted girls died of heart attack and frustration with the loss of their children.,

“One father of two of the girls kidnapped just went into a kind of coma and kept repeating the names of his daughters until life left him,” Bitrus said on Tuesday.

Chibok community leaders alongside the 160 parents of kidnapped girls and 51 girls who escaped are currently in a closed-door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.

At the meeting, the community is expected to present at least six demands to the president.
