Mayowa Ahmed, a 31-year-old ovarian cancer patient, died on Sunday after a fierce battle highlighted by a publicly-driven campaign for funds.
Nigerians took to twitter — one of the social media platforms used in the failed attempt to save her life — to mourn her passing.
It’s such a pity that #savemayowa is now #ripmayowa
May your gentle soul rest in peace. No more pains for you dear.
