The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says 522 people were involved in road accidents across Nigeria during the just-concluded Eid-al-Adha celebration.
Bisi Kazeem, FRSC public education officer, said in a statement that the agency also recorded a 57% decrease in the number of people killed in road accidents compared to the previous year’s celebration.
He said the agency registered 88 traffic mishaps, with 38 fatalities and 211 people injured.
Kazeem added that those figures were a reduction from 118 road accidents, 88 mortalities and 373 wounded people recorded during the celebration in 2022.

FRSC credited the reduction in traffic accidents and casualties to “improved and rejigged patrol operations, robust public enlightenment campaign” carried out by the agency.
