FRSC: Two dead, one injured in accident on Abeokuta-Lagos expressway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says two persons died while one other sustained injury in a motor accident along the Abeokuta-Lagos expressway.

Anthony Uga, sector commander of the Ogun FRSC, said the accident involved two vehicles and two motorcycles at about 5:10 a.m. on Friday.

He said the road crash was caused by wrongful overtaking and excessive speed by a trailer driver which led to a head-on collision with the two motorcycles and a Volkswagen vehicle.

“The corpses of the victims had been deposited at the morgue of Ifo General Hospital,while the survivor is receiving treatment at the same hospital,” NAN quoted Uga as saying.

Uga added that the FRSC operatives attached Sango-Ota unit command carried out rescue operation on Abeokuta-Lagos expressway to ensure the free flow of traffic in the area.

The FRSC boss called on motorists to always drive carefully and consider other vehicles on the road.

He also advised drivers to always maintain the required speed limit while driving.

Uga commiserated with the families of the deceased and prayed that God grants them the fortitude to bear the loss.
