The Police Service Commission (PSC) has promoted 27 senior officers to various ranks in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
A statement released on Monday by Ikechukwu Ani, PSC spokesperson, said the promotions were approved after written and oral examinations by the officers.
Ani disclosed that 11 commissioners of police were promoted to the rank of assistant inspector-general of police (AIG) while 16 deputy commissioners of police were elected to the rank of commissioner.
Taiwo Lakanu, chairman of the committee on police promotions, urged the newly promoted officers to “pay more attention to the dictates of their new offices”.
