Africa has recorded a total of 3,426 coronavirus cases in 46 countries on the continent.
This is according to data obtained from the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) as of Friday evening.
According to the report, the continent has recorded 3,426 cases, 94 deaths, while 253 persons have recovered from the disease.
On March 25, the centre reported that Africa had 2,475 cases, 64 deaths, and 203 recoveries.

This implies that the number of coronavirus cases have increased by 951 within a period of 48 hours.
Fifty persons have recovered, while 30 persons have died within the same period.
According to the data, Central Africa has recorded a total of 176 cases, eight deaths, and six recoveries, while East Africa has 264 cases, four deaths and five recoveries.

North Africa has a total of 1,368 cases, 65 deaths and 216 recoveries, while Southern Africa has recorded 978 cases, three deaths and four recoveries.
West Africa, where Nigeria is located, has recorded a total of 640 cases, 14 deaths and 22 recoveries.
