Hadi Sirika, the minister of aviation, announced on Thursday that 10 airlines did not receive approval to operate in the country ahead of the resumption of international flights.

According to the minister, some airlines did not receive approval because their originating countries have not begun to allow entry to tourist visa holders.

Sirika had previously said Nigeria would apply the rule of reciprocity in granting approval to foreign airlines.

International flights are scheduled to resume on September 5, 2020.
