Folarin Falana, Nigerian rapper and comedian better known as Falz, bagged the Black Entertainment (BET) award alongside stars from the world over.
Falz, a qualified lawyer and son of Nigerian senior advocate, Femi Falana, won as the new best international act, edging out competition from three continents.
Falz won the award over Australia’s Tkay, France’s MHD, South Africa’s Emtee and UK’s Section Boyz and WSTRN.
Beyoncé, black American singer, was voted best female R&B/Pop artist, with her Formation video winning the video of the year, the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award, and the Centric Award.

Nicki Minaj was named the best female Hip Hop artist for the seventh consecutive year, while Drake won the male category of the same award.
Nigeria’s Wizkid and Yemi Alade lost out on the best international act award for Africa.
