FULL LIST: Osimhen out as Eguavoen names squad for Libya double-header clash

Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman are out of the Eagles' starting XI against Rwanda

Austin Eguavoen, the interim head coach of the Super Eagles, has named his 23-man squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) double-header qualifying games against Libya.

The list was unveiled in a statement released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Saturday.

The most significant omission from the list is Victor Osimhen. The striker suffered a muscle injury during Galatasaray’s Super Lig encounter against Kasımpaşa on September 28.

The Turkish club announced that the 25-year-old had been diagnosed with a strain in his upper left posterior muscle group and would be out of action for a few weeks.

Others on the list include Ademola Lookman, Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Boniface, Samuel Chukwueze and William Troost-Ekong.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Alhassan Yusuf and Frank Onyeka are also included.
