Rivers United have been drawn against Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosa in group B of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The draw, which was held in Cairo on Monday, will see the Pride of Rivers also slug it out with DC Motema Pembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Congo Brazzaville’s Diables Noir in the same group.

The Stanley Eguma-led boys dropped to the Confederation Cup following their ouster in the Champions League qualifiers.

United proceeded to CAF CC group stages after a 6-1 aggregate win over Al Nasr of Libya in the playoffs.
They won the first leg 5-0 in Port Harcourt and followed it up with a 1-1 draw in Benghazi.
The team is Nigeria’s sole representative on the continent with Plateau United, Remo Stars and Kwara United all failing to secure further places in the playoffs.
Group A has St. Eloi Lupopo of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Libya’s Al Akhder FC, Marumo Gallants of South Africa and Algeria’s USM Alger.

Group C comprises ASFAR Rabat of Morocco, Asko de Kara of Togo, and Egypt’s duo Future FC and Pyramids FC.
Group D includes AS Real Bamako of Mali, Tanzania’s Yanga SC, US Monastir of Tunisia and DRC’s TP Mazembe.
