Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state, has empowered over 1850 youths in the state with tools and cash prizes to “fight poverty”.
While speaking during the graduation ceremony of the beneficiaries at the government house on Wednesday, the governor said over one million youths will be empowered by his administration before the end of his first tenure.
He said the empowerment programme was part of his administration’s determination to fight poverty, youth restiveness and growing unemployment in the country.
He added that his administration has made huge investment in youth empowerment, skills acquisition and training in various aspects that can make them self-reliant and cater for themselves, their families, and also become employers of labour.
