Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has presented the certificate of return to Nicholas Ukachukwu as the party’s flagbearer in the Anambra forthcoming governorship election.
Ganduje presented the certificate to Ukachukwu after the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) approved the results of the state’s primary election.
At a meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday at the APC national secretariat, the primary election committee, led by Bassey Otu, governor of Cross River, presented its report, declaring Ukachukwu the winner after scoring 1,455 votes.
Ganduje expressed gratitude to the Otu-led committee “for ensuring a fair and transparent process” and urged all stakeholders, particularly other aspirants and their supporters, to unite behind the party’s candidate.
