Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano, seems not to be happy about a meeting between Bola Tinubu, president-elect, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
In a circulating audio, a voice similar to that of Ganduje can be heard telling Ibrahim Masari, the All Progressives Congress (APC) placeholder for the vice-presidential ticket, how unhappy he was that Tinubu met with Rabiu Kwankwaso, in France.
TheCable had reported that the former governors of Lagos and Kano met in France for hours. It was learnt that Kwankwaso might join the cabinet of Tinubu – who will be inaugurated on May 29.
Ganduje and Kwankwaso have been at loggerheads over issues bordering Kano state. The former succeeded the latter as governor in 2015.

‘JEALOUS PEOPLE EXAGGERATING AUDIO’
The Kano government said some unnamed people who are unhappy with the relationship Ganduje has with the president-elect, are “exaggerating” a leaked audio.
The state government did not deny the authenticity of the audio.

In a statement on Saturday, Muhammad Garba, Kano information commissioner, said some people have been paid to use the audio to cause disaffection between Tinubu and Ganduje.
“The governor and the president-elect have since realised this mischievous attempt to cause disaffection between them, and would not allow this sound working relationship which has been waxing stronger, particularly at this critical time, to be destroyed by some self-centred individuals,” Garba said.
“The APC members and public should disregard such attempts and remain calm and loyal to the party to ensure the successful inauguration of the president-elect.”
