Flying Eagles coach, Manu Garba, is unafraid of their round of 16 opponent Germany in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
Nigeria set up the clash with the Germans at the Christchurch Stadium on Thursday after beating Hungary 2-0 in their last group match.
Two goals from Taiwo Awoniyi earned Nigeria second position in the group behind Brazil and they will now face Germany who finished as Group F winners with the maximum nine points, scoring 16 goals and conceding just two.
But Garba is not in awe of the prolific Germans.

“Our next game is against Germany, but we are ready for any team because if we want to be champions we have to be ready for them,” he said.
Nigeria and Hungary had followed similar paths to the final match in Group E – losing to Brazil and thrashing North Korea – but Sunday night’s game at Stadium Taranaki was largely one-sided which Garba agrees with.
“It was a very good match for us,” he said.

“We wanted to score more, but still I’m happy with the 2-0 result. The Hungarians play more from the wings, but we were able to control the game and the outcome.”
