Garba Shehu: Politicians paid miscreants to boo Buhari in Borno

Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, says some politicians paid miscreants to boo President Muhammadu Buhari in Borno state.

On Wednesday, some residents of the state booed the president as his convoy made its way into Maiduguri. Buhari was on a condolence visit to the state over the killing of 30 citizens at Auno on Sunday.

In an interview with the Hausa service of the BBC, in Abuja, on Thursday, Shehu said only miscreants protested against the president’s visit.

“I was part of the delegation that entered Maiduguri right from the airport to the palace of the Shehu of Borno. The people came out to say thank you and welcome us,” Shehu said.

  1. This is what leadership is in this country, unparalleled insensitivity. They say what they want to say without a thought to how it will affect the people. That a very high probability exists that those booing have suffered personal loss due to the insurgency is totally lost on this arrogant administration. This is the epicenter of the tragedy for heaven’s sake. Do they need inducement from politicians to express their grief and displeasure at the conditions they find themselves? This response really should not be a surprise, it just hurts too much that’s all.
