Gbolahan Salami begs Nigerians for choosing transfer over CHAN

Gbolahan Salami, the Super Eagles and former Warri Wolves FC striker, says he is happy and can’t help but thank God for his move to KUPS FC of Finland.

Gbolahan expressed his happiness to TheCable in a telephone interview, saying: “I am happy and I thank God for making this happen for me.

” This is a happy moment for me because of what happened with my attempted Serbia move the last time.

“Better to start somewhere. Even if I won’t mind playing with Barcelona or Chelsea or Madrid, I need to start somewhere, which is what has just happened with this KUPS move.”

Salami was full of apologies to Nigerians for not making the CHAN team because he had to go sort his transfer issue out.

“I think I had some issues with my club, I had to travel to Europe to sort one or two things out for myself. I am so sorry if I let my country down by not going for the tournament.

“I am apologizing to my country, my fans, my coaches and my team mates. It was not intentional. If I am called up for the national team again, I will honour it.”

Salami added, though, that his priority right now remains his new club.

“But right now, my club here in Finland is my priority. That’s what I am going to concentrate on right now.”
