German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has arrived in Nigeria.
Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), received Steinmeier at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday evening.
Steinmeier is in Nigeria for a three-day state visit.

The German president will also visit Lagos to engage with business representatives, visit a start-up hub, and meet with members of Nigeria’s culture sector and civil society, including Nike Okundaye and Wole Soyinka.
Steinmeier is accompanied by a business delegation of chief executive officers (CEOs) and high-ranking board members of some of Germany’s most successful companies in the fields of IT, high-tech, and energy.
The German embassy said the crop of business leaders is an indication of the rising interest of German businesses looking to invest in Nigeria.
