Ghanaian Daniel Opare joins Augsburg

Black Star of Ghana defender, Daniel Opare, has joined German Bundesliga side Augsburg from Portuguese club Porto.

The 24-year-old right-back has signed a three-year contract with the club.

And Opare, who has 16 caps for the Black Stars, is up for the challenge.

“I look forward to the challenge of playing with the FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga. I only heard good things from Baba Rahman,” he said.

Augsburg managing director, Stefan Reuter, hope to help Opare become a better player.

“Daniel is a young, talented player who has already gained match practice at various clubs in Europe,” he told the club website.

“But we are sure that his development is not yet complete.”
