Ghanaian president joins GEJ, OBJ in Abuja as Daily Times marks 91st anniversary

President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana will on Tuesday join former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja for the 91st anniversary and awards ceremony of Daily Times newspaper.

Many dignitaries are expected to attend the event scheduled for Abuja International Conference Centre.

Invited guests have started arriving in the country from different parts of the world, according to the organisers.

Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the keynote speaker, while Olusegun Osoba, former governor of Ogun state, is the chairman of the occasion.

Among the guests expected are Senate President Bukola Saraki; Yakubu Gowon, former military head of state; Theophilus Danjuma, one time minister of defence; and Pete Edochie, veteran Nollywood actor., and Ibrahim Dankwanbo, governor of Gombe state.

Some of the governors that will be there are Ibrahim Dankwanbo (Gombe), Akinkunmi Ambode (Lagos), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Nyesom Wike (Rivers) Wilie Obiano (Anambra) Bindo Jibrila (Adamawa) and Yahaya Bello (Kogi).

George Weah, a football icon from Liberia, is also expected to grace the occasion.

Business icons to be honoured at the event are Tony Elumelu, chairman of Heirs Holdings and UBA Plc and Ibukun Awosika, chairman, FirstBank Plc.
