Ghana’s Atsu wins tournament’s best player

Christian Atsu was named the Orange Africa Cup of Nations player of the tournament after Ghana suffered penalty shoot-out loss to Cote d’Ivoire in the final.

The Chelsea player currently on loan at Everton also won the goal of the tournament award for his stunning strike in Ghana’s quarter-final 3-0 win against Guinea.

Atsu started each of Ghana’s six games and finished the tournament with two goals.

Andre Ayew, his Ghanaian team mate, went away with the Pepsi Highest Scorer, after bagging three goals in the tournament.

Ghana rookie forward Kwesi Appiah was named Samsung Fair Player of the tournament.

DR Congo won the Fair Play award.
