The Rotary Club of Abuja Jabi Lakeside has distributed over 500 packs of reusable pads to girls in the Kuchingoro community.
Amobi Ogum, president of the Rotary Club arm, said the outreach was held to mark the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child celebrated annually on October 11.
Ogum expressed displeasure at instances where girls are absent from school during their menstrual period, noting that it has severe accumulated economic costs in the long run.
The outreach was done on Friday in partnership with Slay Dot Com Aid, a non-governmental organisation (NGO).
