Giroud’s equalizer keeps Arsenal’s hope alive

Olivier Giroud’s 89th minute header denied Manchester United a win at Thebes’s Old Trafford on Saturday.

Despite a fairly frenetic opening, the first half was relatively quiet with both teams cancelling one another out.

Manchester United broke the deadlock in the 69th minute when Ander Hererra picked up the ball near the byline and pulled it back to an unmarked Juan Mata in the middle of the box.

He had the composure to guide the ball past Petr Cech. The Spaniard got a yellow card for his celebration.

The two substitutes- Oxlade-Chamberlain and Giroud combined as Oxlade-Chamberlain got the better of Rashford easily down the right wing, before he clipped a teasing cross to the back post.

It proved to be a perfect delivery for Giroud, who saved the Gunners with a bullet header to draw level.
