Give us water, Kwara legislators beg Governor Abdulfatah

Governor of Kwara State, AbdulFatah Ahmed has been urged to approve the rehabilitation of Okuta Water Works in Baruten local government area of the state.

In a resolution made after adopting the report of its Committee on Agriculture and Water Resource, the house lamented acute water shortage at Okuta, but said the rehabilitation of the water works would solve the problem.

Hon. Rasaq Atunwa, speaker of the Assembly, remarked that the governor should approve fund for the repair of the water work, as contained in 2014 budget.

He said such measure would help to alleviate the sufferings of Okuta residents.

He called on Baruten Local Government to carry out immediate repairs on all bore holes in Okuta to mitigate the water shortage threatening social and economic activities in the area.

The House also urged the state government to provide succour to several residents of Kemanji in Kaima Local Government Area of the state displaced by rainstorm.

Speaking under matters of urgent public importance, Alhaji Mande Umar (APC), representing Banni-Adena constituency, had implored the governor to end the plight of the people since the rainstorm.
