In celebration of its anniversary, Global Patriot, an online Newspaper, is bringing together a host of notable personalities for a public lecture and awards ceremony.
They are Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture; Kayode Fayemi, minister of mines and steel development; Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state; and Femi Falana, lawyer and human rights activist.
Others are Femi Adesina, special adviser to the president on media and publicity; Ibrahim Magu, acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and Gani Adams, leader of the O’odua Peoples Congress (OPC).
Slated for 4Points by Sheraton Hotel in Lagos on Thursday, the public lecture will dissect issues in Nigeria’s patriotism, while proffering solutions to achieving national development.

The event would also be used to honour select individuals and organisations.
According to a statement released by Simon Ibe, publisher and editor in chief of the publication, the event is coming at the right time to spark discussions that will lead to national action.
“The programme is expected to bring to the front burner of national discourse, the connection between patriotism…and the need to tap the vastly untapped potentials of the country,” he said.
