GOC assures corps members in Kaduna of adequate security

MLD Sarazo, the general officer commanding (GOC) 1 division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna, said the military will continue to ensure the safety of corps members during their stay in the state.

The GOC spoke on Monday when he received YD Ahmed, the director-general (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in his office in Kaduna.

Sarazo said NYSC has always been a part of the army, stressing the need to foster stronger relationships between the two government establishments.

In a statement issued by Eddy Megwa, NYSC spokesperson, Sarazo said the division will continue to work with other security agencies, community leaders, traditional rulers, religious groups, and political leaders to discharge its duties.

“We will continue to provide adequate security for all corps lodges, NYSC secretariats and orientation camps,” the GOC said.

During the visit, Ahmed said the 1 division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna is one of the critical stakeholders of NYSC, providing a robust welfare package, security and other logistics support for corps members.

The NYSC DG also lauded the division for the deployment of military personnel to the orientation camp for drills, physical training and other security matters.
