The Indian Cup Golf Tournament 2021 has been concluded at the golf section of Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos with Peter Eben-Spiff and Bolaji Martins emerging winners in their respective categories.
The duo also walked away with business class tickets on Qatar Airways.
The tournament had teed-off with the caddies and professionals round on October 25. It had also featured lady players a day later and then ran a full field of competitors.
Speaking after the tournament, Sunil Thadani, chairman of the Indian Golf Foundation, said the annual event was successful with an impressive player turnout.

“We got from different corporates that include Pepsi, African Industries, Qatar Airways and Zenith Bank who believe in the Indo-Nigeria business relationship,” Thadani said.
As businesses continue to recover from the setback of Covid-19, we believe India Cup was the perfect event for our sponsors.”
Over 400 players participated at different levels, leading to the final where Eben-Spiff shot 77, six over par to pick the best gross prize.

In the net category, Martins returned 67 to lead the pack, leaving Yomi Sanni with the runner-up prize and C. Ekeocha at third place.
At the prize-giving ceremony, the management of Ikoyi Club 1938 commended the sponsors for their efforts in strengthening the bonds between the Nigerian and Indian communities.
“We love the impact the community is making through this platform and we are already discussing how we can make this better in the next edition,” said Mumuney, chairman of Ikoyi Club 1938.
