Abubakar Luggerewo, speaker of the Gombe house of assembly, says the state government is ready to establish a commission for people with disabilities (PWDs).
Luggerewo spoke at a public hearing organised to deliberate on two bills to establish the Gombe Disability Commission and Gombe state Social Investment Agency.
The speaker said the disability commission will provide for the needs of PWDs and promote disability inclusion.
He said Inuwa Yahaya, governor of Gombe, is ready to sign the two bills once they are presented to him.

Ishyaku Adamu, the chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) in Gombe, also appreciated the governor for supporting PWDs.
“We commend His Excellency for initiating countless PWDs-oriented policies in the past five years that added value to the lives of persons with disabilities in Gombe State in many respects,” Adamu said.
