France defeated Germany to set up an European Championship final showdown against Portugal as Griezmann scored a brace to upset the German team, who entered the game as favourites.
The first half was largely a German half and they completely dominated possession but were unable to score. Then huge drama happened with seconds to the end of the first half.
Giroud should have buried the chance he got but missed it. The chance disappeared as a result of his lack of pace, as Germany was saved the agony of conceding a goal in the late minutes.
France had a corner, Griezmann took the kick and Payet tried to get his head on it. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty on the stroke of 45th minutes.

Schweinsteiger was booked for handball, with the replay proving that the referee was right with the decision.
Griezmann made no mistake from the spot, blasting the ball into the top left corner as Neuer dived the wrong way.
Germany was trailing for the first time in any game since the start of Euro 2016.

Griezmann then scored the goal, his sixth of the tournament, to knock off any hopes of a Germany comeback and send the hosts into the final.
