The forum of Eko Princes and Princesses has asked Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, to investigate the attack on the palace of Oba Rilwanu Akiolu.
The monarch’s palace was invaded by hoodlums amid widespread violence in the state on Wednesday.
The staff of office was also reportedly stolen while the monarch was rescued by security operatives.
Adewale Taorid Ojora, a prince, in a statement on behalf of the forum, condemned the attack on the palace.

The group said the palace was built over four centuries ago, adding that the building has remained a historical monument and a cultural rallying point for Lagosians.
It said hoodlums violently invaded the palace under the guise of #EndSARS, causing damage to the state’s traditional heritage.
The forum commiserated with Akiolu over the incident, and called for an investigation to bring perpetrators to justice.

“The ancient Palace, which is the official residence of the Oba of Lagos, was originally built in 1670 and has remained an historical monument and a cultural rallying point for Lagosians,” the group said.
“Reviewing the damning footage of the violent invasion by these miscreants and vandals, it is disheartening to observe the wanton desecration of our traditional heritage in Lagos.
“We totally condemn this attack and demand that it ceases immediately and urge the security services to secure the Palace.
“We commiserate with our Royal father Alaiyeluwa Oba Rilwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu I and call on the Lagos State Government to investigate this incident and bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to book.”
