An All Progressives Congress (APC) group in the south-west has asked President Bola Tinubu to appoint the youth minister from the region.
Tinubu is yet to appoint a minister of youth.
On August 16 when the presidency released the list of ministers and their portfolios, Abubakar Momoh was assigned to the ministry of youth.
On August 20, the president redeployed Momoh to the ministry of Niger Delta development.

45 ministers who were screened and confirmed by the senate were sworn in on Monday.
In an open letter addressed to Tinubu on Wednesday, Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo and Babajide Akeredolu, the group’s chair and co-chair respectively, presented a list of 10 nominees from the south-west that could be considered for the vacant ministerial slot.
“From the Ekiti and Ondo axis, the forum recommends Makinde Araoye, an active member of the APC in Ekiti state; Seun Olufemi-White, a key member of the Renewed Hope youth movement and close ally of the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu; and Ayodele Olawande, the APC State Youth Leader in Ondo,” they said.

“From the Osun and Oyo axis, the forum nominates Bolaji Afeez Repete, former Deputy National Youth Leader of the APC; Prince Oyekunle Oyewumi, a prince of Ogbomoso and party stakeholder from Oyo state;
“Titilope Ayoka Gbadamosi, an active member of the party in Oyo, who also vied for the position of Zonal Youth Leader at the last APC National Convention; and Ademola Adeyeye, a leading young member of the party in Osun.”
From the Ogun and Lagos axis, the group asked Tinubu to consider Dayo Israel, current APC national youth leader; Bayo Adenekan, a former aide to Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun; and Seriki Muritala, a medical doctor and APC youth leader in Lagos.
