Group donates N10k each to widows with disabilities in Ogun

The New Era Initiative for persons with disabilities (PWD) has donated N10,000 each to ten widows living with disabilities in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

The non-governmental organisation (NGO) provided the financial grant as “part of ongoing efforts to improve the lives of vulnerable people”.

Adeyinka Adekunle, chair of the organisation, emphasised how important the initiative was to providing the much-needed assistance to marginalised groups.

He urged beneficiaries to channel funds to ventures that can improve their lives.

Tomisin Adeyefa, public relations officer of the NGO, restated the organisation’s commitment to empowering PWDs.

He said the organisation’s mission is to foster independence and self-sufficiency among PWDs.

Other members of the organisation, including Olusola Philip, Abosede Olaiya and Toyin Adekunle, also harped on the importance of judicious use of funds.

Esther Oluwole from Blind Cluster, Agboola Omolola from Spinal Cord Injury Association, Alake Adeosun from IDEA, and Alimot Jimoh from NAPWD, appreciated New Era for the support.
