The Anambra government has declared Thursday and Friday as work-free days to enable civil servants prepare for the governorship election slated to hold on Saturday.
Willie Obiano, Anambra governor, announced the decision on Wednesday during an interactive session with workers at Jerome Udoji secretariat in Awka, the state capital.
Obiano said the public holiday will enable workers to travel to their various voting units before the election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had, on Tuesday, assured residents of a free and fair election.
