The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo says it will provide “equal opportunities” for all members as the party prepares for the governorship primary election.
The ruling party’s governorship primary election is scheduled for April 20 while the state-wide poll will be held on November 16.
In a statement on Thursday, Alex Kalejaye, spokesperson of APC in Ondo, said Ade Adetimehin, the party’s chairman, has assured members of “equal opportunities”.
Kalejaye quoted Adetimehin as describing as unnecessary the idea of some people constituting themselves as “the aborigines of APC” in the state.

“The chapter is for all and would continue to encourage equal opportunities for all the members. New members should entertain no fears in this regard,” he said.
He added that the chairman advised governorship aspirants to be cautious of “desperate supporters who are stoking the fire of disunity” in the party.
He also urged members to respect the party’s governorship aspirants to avoid unnecessary friction in the political space.
