“Yes, he is the chief of staff to the speaker of Adamawa state house of assembly. It is true,” the police spokesperson said.

“What actually happened was that between the hours of 1 to 2 pm, the early hours of today, the kidnappers invaded his house that was situated at the remote side of Yola town in Adamawa state. That settlement is called Wurro-Chekke.”

“When they invaded the house, in an attempt to forcefully open the door, the chief of staff surrendered himself and was whisked away to an unknown destination.

“The command immediately mobilised its operational assets including manpower who were deployed to the area, unfortunately, there are so many exit routes around the area, so before their arrival, the chief of staff was already taken away.

“The CP directed them to give them (kidnappers) a hot chase and that is what is currently ongoing.

“We are working on our intelligence machinery to track down their location and move towards their location and possibly rescue them alive and arrest the culprits.”
