Gunmen in Kogi state have kidnapped a Chinese national from his residence.
The gunmen shot sporadically into the air to scare people before escaping with the expatriate, said to be a consultant to the government.
Confirming the development, Elvis Aguebor, the state’s police spokesman, said the police was on the trail of those behind the act, vowing that the hostage would soon regain freedom.
“The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday when armed men stormed the official residential quarters of the Kogi state water corporation and abducted a Chinese national,” he told AFP.
